School Fundraising Opportunity

We are offering schools the opportunity to raise money with the assistance of The Toothfairy. Part of the package includes a visit to your school assembly from The Toothfairy herself. Sheldon College Principal, Dr Lyn Bishop had this to say about their visit...

Assembly last week was an enchanting experience. Young and old alike were transported into the magical world of Fairyland. Stephanie’s ability to engage her audience was both captivating and inspirational, as the children listened in awe to the soft tones of the beautiful fairy as she wove her magic whilst telling the story of the Tooth Fairy – a story as it has never EVER been told. One can’t be certain but it would seem that fairy dust descended on us all as we were all caught up in the magic of the moment. The Story of the Toothfairy is a “must read” for all young children.

Contact us if you would like further information on this fundraising opportunity.

Press Release

Local author Stephanie Wilson has written a delightful children's book, designed to put a positive spin on a visit to the dentist. "The Story of the Toothfairy - as it has never EVER been told..." is Stephanie's first children's book and due to be released mid August, coinciding with Dental Health Month.

The story describes Kenzie's visit to the Toothfairy, who uses magic to ensure the experience is both entertaining and enjoyable. Supported by Erin Casey's stunning watercolours, this book will appeal to both parents and children alike.

Stephanie is the true Toothfairy - at TFI Dentistry Cleveland, where children have the option of being treated by her - including dress-up and a photo with the Toothfairy.

The book will be officially launched on the 13th August at 6pm, Horizons Room, Sheldon College, Taylor Road, Sheldon 4157.

The Making of the Book

We are all getting pretty excited now, Stephanie's book "The Story of the Toothfairy - as it has never EVER been told" is at the printers!

Let's step back a little:

We had months of fun and games: writing, rhyming, reading aloud and reading again before we handed the text to local illustrator, Erin Casey, to work her magic. The resulting water colours are just incredible. The vivid colours, the expressions on the children's faces, the sway of the fairy and her amazing blonde hair (now who does that remind us of?) - what more could we have asked for!

Next was the layout, which words where, how many per page, what size font - which font? So many decisions but so, so much fun!

The cover - which of the glorious water colours was to represent the whole book, what would be most eye catching, most suitable, leaving enough room for the text of the title itself? Then the title, like most books we changed from the 'working title' to what we have now - but there were many versions in between...

Off it all went to our graphic designer, Kasia who did the layout for us - superb job Kasia.

So, now we wait - not quietly of course, there is so much to do!

We have a launch to organise - on the 13th August - more details on that soon.

Visits to schools, interviews with journalists and more fun to be had than anyone can possibly imagine!
